Corporate History

1897 Began business operations in Minami-ku, Osaka City as a manufacturer and distributor of general merchandise.
1950 Incorporated in Meguro-ku (Meguro ward).
1951 Became the first distributor of methacryl plastic for Mitsubishi Rayon Co., Ltd..
Moved the head office to Taito-ku, Tokyo.
1961 Entered into a distributor agreement with Takiron Co., Ltd..
1961 Asahi Plastics Co., Ltd. joined Shinko Plastics Co., Ltd. as an affiliate company.
1962 Acryldine, a product developed by Asahi Plastics, was a sensational success.
1965 Established Ryoko Co., Ltd. in a joint (50/50) investment project with Mitsubishi Rayon Co., Ltd..
1966 Moved the head office to Koto-ku, Tokyo.
1967 Opened Osaka Sales Office (current Osaka Branch).
Entered into a distributor agreement with Sumitomo Chemical Co., Ltd., Kyowa Gas Chemical Co., Ltd.(current Kuraray Co., Ltd.).
1971 Entered into a distributor agreement with Mitsubishi Plastics, Inc..
1973 Expanded the business field by entering into distributor agreements with a diverse range of manufacturers, including Asahi Chemical Industry Co. (current Asahi Kasei Corp.), Achilles Corp., Tsutsunaka Plastic Industry Co., Ltd., Acrymirror Co., Ltd. (later merged with Ryoko Co., Ltd.).
1974 Modernized internal systems by utilizing NTT Public Corporation's (current NTT Data) computer system, before any other company in the industry, to systemize our sales, purchase, inventory control and accounting operations.
1981 Opened Saitama Sales Office (current Saitama Branch).
1984 Established a distribution center in Singapore as a stepping-stone for future operations in Southeast Asia and opened Josai Sales Office (current Josai Branch).
1987 Opened Johoku Sales Office.
Separated Shinko Co., Ltd. (current Molding Materials Dept.).
1988 Launched own in-house computer system (IBM S/38). Established in-house network to share data.
1990 Opened Soka Sales Office.
1992 Opened Edogawa Business Office.
1993 Sun Industries Co., Ltd. joined Shinko Plastics Co., Ltd. as affiliate company.
1996 Initiated EDI (data exchange) with Mitsubishi Rayon Co., Ltd.. On-line order entry and inventory data control became possible.
1998 Opened Shiga Sales Office.
Private offering of corporate bonds to the Daiichi Kangyo Bank (current Mizuho Bank, Ltd.).
2000 Fiftieth anniversary.
Panel Star, our own brand products, was a sensational success.
Private offering of corporate bonds to the Sanwa Bank (current UFJ Bank Ltd.).
2002 Further improved overseas bases, including Korea Liaison Office, to raise the level of activity at overseas operations even further.
Entered into a distributor agreement with UMG ABS.
2003 Merged with Shinko Co., Ltd.
2004 Acquisition of ISO14001. Opened Shanghai office.
2006 Established Shinko Plastics International Trading (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. in Shanghai, China. Intended to develop Chinese Market.
